Abstract
Jacobsen syndrome is a clinical disorder caused by a deletion of the terminal band 11q23. The features of the syndrome include developmental delay, psychomotor retardation, trigonocephaly, downward slanting palpebral fissures, retrognathia, micrognathia, hammer toes, thrombocytopenia and cardiac abnormalities. The disorder was first described by Jacobsen in 1973. We have experienced a 15-year-old female patient with Jacobsen syndrome. She had multiple recurrent abscesses in buttocks. We herein report a case of Jacobsen syndrome in 15-year-old female patient with facial dysmorphism, and thrombocytopenia. The chromosomal study revealed 46, XX, del (11) (q23). She had a thrombocytopenia. So we did a careful dressing on both buttock abscesses. She had a antibiotics therapy and had complete wound healing. There was not any complication except delayed wound healing. And she had been hospitalized for diagnosis and treatment for 40 days. We report this case as Jacobsen syndrome with congenital hematologic disorder. It makes to impede the wound healing. So a brief review of literature is included.
